Christian Tae Kwon Do and Combat Hapkido are two Christian Martial Art Schools and a ministry of River of Life Christian Center located in Riverview, Florida. An alternative to secular martial arts, Christian Tae Kwon Do focuses on teaching the traditional art of Tae Kwon Do with its spectacular kicking and powerful blocks, while Combat Hapkido concentrates on the science of self defense. Christian Tae Kwon Do and Combat Hapkido training at River of Life Christian Center provides a place for people to assemble and freely study martial arts in a safe, family environment.

It's not only a self-defense and physical fitness program, but it's a tool that can be used to witness about the love that Jesus Christ has for us. At our school, we serve God with mind, body, and spirit. Our goal is not to simply grow in number, but to be a beacon inside and outside of our church, reaching out to the community; a ministry for all people.

Tae Kwon Do classes begin with an instructor or student giving a Bible Devotion to the class, explaining how the verses are applicable to their life. Praise reports and prayer requests follow each devotion. Students are randomly chosen each night to ensure they are always prepared to witness. Each time a student tests for their next rank, they are required to have a Bible verse memorized, and must recite it to the Black Belt Board.

Combat Hapkido classes take a modern, non-traditional approach for those that are 16 years and older. There are no forms or katas, no high kicks or high flashy throws, no strict traditional training, or even uniform requirements. It is desgined for the adult that does not have the time for the traditional martial art program, but wants to be able to defend themselves now.
